Today, and every day, Realm of Caring is guided by our North Star, Charlotte Figi, reminding us why we fight for access for all – through education, research, and advocacy. We continue because everyone deserves the dignity of choice. We continue because Charlotte’s impact remains the footprint of our path forward; toward care for all through the healing power of the Earth.

On April 7th, 2020, Charlotte very suddenly and tragically passed away. The globe shook as it mourned the loss of this mighty individual and it was felt across continents. Tributes were made, a day was named in her honor, hearts outpoured with emotion for Charlotte, celebrating the path she paved.

On April 6th, 2023, one day before Charlotte Figi Day is recognized in Colorado, Senator Van Winkle and Senator Exum took a moment to pay tribute to Charlotte and her family and what she accomplished in her short life for millions across the globe.

The tribute read:

In Charlotte Figi’s thirteen-year life, the impact that Charlotte’s journey made is immeasurable. Her role as a pioneering patient, created access to cannabis therapies for millions around the world.

Charlotte was the inspiration for the launch of the Realm of Caring Foundation, a nonprofit charitable organization established to guide suffering families through their cannabis health journey and conducting revolutionary research worldwide.

Charlotte Figi’s deeply committed family shared their journey and challenges to assist families in similar situations. Charlotte was rightly known as, “the girl who is changing marijuana laws across America,”.

Charlotte’s story inspired the Charlotte’s Web Medical Hemp Act of 2014 and many other legislative efforts around the world.

On April 7th, 2020, Charlotte Figi passed away, having left the world with a life-changing story of overcoming adversity through courage and grace. Her family continues this work in Charlotte’s name.
