Written by Molly I am a 29-year-old woman who has had intractable epilepsy (resistant to medication) for 19 years. I had my first of six brain surgeries at age 10 to stop a pretty severe brain bleed. The damage to surrounding brain tissue is what has lead to my seizure disorder. In the last 19 years, I have tried all of the anticonvulsant drugs available to me, including several drug studies.
